Let’s Dance – It’s Party Time

It’s party season, which means it’s time to up the glam.

Which ever way you go, it’s time to have fun. The options are endless, whether you want to invest in a new dress, shoes or accessories. And it doesn’t mean you have to buy everything new, you can buy one new item and work it with items in your current wardrobe.  A pair of statement earrings (check out the pair below) adds some fun and won’t break the bank.

My tip is to stand out from the crowd in bold designs and playful pieces that work for every occasion.

Chic Metallics

This ultra modern trend has never looked so chic. This party season make a statement in sequins and metallics in crunchy, glitzy textures and fabrics. Textures like feathers and mesh are also great for the party season and partner well with a sunray pleated skirt or palazzo pants.  (Image – Jane Daniels SS17/18)

Frill Seeker

Party on in ruffles, ruching and pleats. There is something so feminine and yet glamorous with a ruffle or two, strategically placed. Add a little bare skin (just a tad, the slash works well), a monochrome palette and a sultry eye. Keep your look freeform in fabrics that fall well.

Colour Pop

There is predominance of eye catching hues this summer with tomato, fuchsia, sapphire and sunny yellow. Keep your style simple to make the most impact.   To be the centre of attention try the hot combo of pink and red.  Wear it one-shoulder, in a jumpsuit or voluminous sleeves. REMEMBER because the colour is IN doesn’t mean it suits you, always choose a colour that flatters your complexion.

Men’s Wardrobe Makeover

And now for the guys.  If you’re a man about town, or would love to be, cut a dash with clothes that speak to you.  Wear dapper garments and smart accessories with a subtle cologne.  Experiment with the colour of your jacket or suit.  There are so many options today.  Wear your jacket without a tie, add a pocket square for flair, and beautiful leather loafers.
