Wrapped in Winter
Falling leaves, cooler nights and new seasons fashion. 'What to wear this winter' can be a dilemma, or 'fashion hell'. Wrap up in perennial winter fabrics that are versatile, perform well, while looking fantastic.
Textures - Update your look with classic tweed, raffai weave or houndstooth.
Sumptuous Velvet - Wear this regal fabric in jewel and midnight hues in a cocktail dress, structured jacket, slim pants or beautiful skirt.
Faux Fur - Run a little wild this winter in a cropped jacket, long vest, collar or caplet. Or go for the real thing and reinvent Grandma's stole or collar with a new shape jacket or to add glamour at night.
Luxurious Leather - Leather is hot this winter and will continue into spring and summer. Try the new neutral and pale leathers in interesting silhouettes with hand stitched detail in shorts, skirts and body con dresses. Or the perennial bomber and biker jacket or gorgeous gloves.
Double Denim - Even Chanel is following this trend for its spring and summer collection. Contrast lights and darks in deconstructured jackets, jeans, shirts, skirts and vests.

Women - Dress to Your Body Shape - Inverted Triangle
The Inverted Triangle is the second most desirable figure shape. The body is larger above the waist than below. It has a proportionally large bust and small hips. Hourglass balance is created by increasing the visual width below the waist using A-line skirts, bold textures, horizontal stripes and fuller legs in trousers. Mimimising the upper body with open necklines and collars, vertical stripes, single-breasted jackets and garments that are smooth and soft in texture.
To dress for an Inverted Triangle shape:
40's Look - Tweed pants with straight legs and V neck blouse that buttons up front.
Exotic Look - Animal print A-line skirt with slim fit top with V neck.
Feminine Fatale - Slim fit blouse worn over ruched or frilled skirt.
Men - Dress to Your Body Shape - Inverted Triangle
The Inverted Triangle carries the persona of strength, boldness and a high self-esteem. The exaggerated upper body requires special attention to ensure a good fit. Balance can be created by trousers that have straight or wide legs. The Inverted Triangle is the first shape in the diagram to the right.
To dress for an Inverted Triangle shape:
Corporate - Wear a single breasted suit with two or three buttons that fits well, with straight leg pants.
Casual and Weekend Wear - Wear shirts that fit well with lighter chinos or jeans with bootleg or wide legs. Avoid skinny and slim jeans.
Next newsletter we will explore the Oval and Round Body Shape.

"Seeing Robin was fantastic, in two casual sittings she taught me how to dress well and look put together. Immediately after the first session, I put one simple strategy in place – just wearing the correct colour lipstick – and everyone commented on how good my hair was looking. Lipstick is so much cheaper than a new hairstyle.
After the second session I knew exactly the type of clothes that suited my body shape. I can now go shopping and buy a complete outfit in less than 20 minutes without having to try on a pile of clothes, and when finished I know I have bought the right clothes for me. I would recommend Robin to anyone who wants to feel great about the way they look, particularly mothers who don’t have the time to spend shopping. Robin makes it so easy."
