Welcome to our Newsletter

Now more than ever we need to shop wisely. If your wardrobe is currently full to overflowing and you still have nothing to wear read my article in Women's Network Magazine Winter edition. It's all about creating Your Perfect Wardrobe when your budget is tight.

Dress for Success

Whether you want to impress a potential employer, take control of the boardroom or seal that important deal, it's essential to maintain the right image.

In today's current uncertain market, your corporate image speaks volumes about who you are and what you stand for. Success comes from dressing to influence and that means presenting yourself professionally, taking pride in your appearance and dressing appropriately for the occasion. For my top ten tips guaranteed to open doors go to Westpac's 'The Ruby Connection' where women in business click. If you want to make a great first impression call Robin at 0419 468 272.

Beat the Winter Blues

Skies might be grey, but there are many ways to brighten your life. It's all about looking and feeling good, no matter what you do. Spend your work and leisure time looking great!

  • For the perfect office outfit pair a tie neck blouse with a wool belted suit.
  • Power walk in smart leisure wear in beautiful colours.
  • Stroll through the Art Gallery in a bone, olive or silver trench and scarf wrapped gypsy style around your head. Try an aubergine fringed or tangerine striped scarf for $25 from Defining Style on 0419 468 272.
  • Enjoy a movie in stylish jeans with a leather jacket and sequin scarf.
  • Indulge at a cosy restaurant in a tailored dress with a statement necklace and wool coat.
  • Explore a book shop in an oversize knit over skinny pants with long leather boots.
  • Guys you can't beat a corduroy sports coat (Polo Ralph Lauren or DJ's) with jeans.

Embellish with Chains

Have you noticed celebrities are wearing chains in pewter, gold or silver strands either as statement jewellery or in their accessories? Chunkier chains look great on bags and accessories, finer chains are perfect for necklaces as you can wear multiple strands.

To look the part try a Senorita necklace with 3 multiple strands and heart shaped pendant for $38 or a Navaho necklace with turquoise charms for $35. The necklaces come in burnished gold or silver from Defining Style at robin@definingstyle.com.au

Men – How to Care for Dress Shirts

Guys if you're wondering how to impress that certain lady and make her think again, why don't you wow her with your perfect grooming. She will be amazed when she knows you care for your dress shirts yourself. For more tips make an appointment with robin@definingstyle.com.au

Washing

  • Machine wash dress shirts on a gentle cycle with luke-warm water to preserve the fabric.
  • Never dry clean dress shirts because the chemicals can destroy the fabric.
  • Deodorant should be allowed to dry before putting on your shirt to prevent stains.
  • To avoid lifting the colour off, separate shirts before washing into: whites, coloureds and darks.
  • Check for stains before ironing because the heat can permanently fix the stain into the fabric.
  • It's easier and better for the fabric, to iron a dress shirt while it is damp to get out any wrinkles.
  • If the shirt is exceptionally wrinkled, spray some water onto part of the shirt that is about to be ironed.

Ironing

  • Set the fabric dial of the iron to the appropriate setting (in general 'cotton')
  • Iron the back of collar first and then the front. Start at the points and move inwards.
  • Lay one shoulder over the narrow edge of the board and iron it, shifting your shirt as needed. Then iron the second shoulder.
  • Open cuffs fully and iron inside first and then outside.
  • Lay flat one sleeve and iron it. Start with the back side, front side second and take care on armhole seams.
  • Rotate shirt over board so you can iron the back, and then the front panel.
  • Hang the shirt immediately on a hanger to avoid wrinkles.

Dear Robin

Just a quick note to let you know the fantastic improvement, not only in appearance but also in so many other areas you have given my wife Donna Dixon. The transformation Donna has had from your influence is truly amazing and inspirational. I am sure so many women would truly benefit from your consultancy. Donna is and still is a very busy and active mother of two young boys, plus the demands of co/director of a small business and a volunteer to our children’s school; with all of these commitments she has felt that she had become complacent in her appearance.

Thanks to you not only has Donna changed her appearance but revitalised her well being and her over all manner. She has a new vigour and refreshed mindset of a much younger woman, who I knew from the not too distant past.

Thank you Robin from the bottom of my heart, to inspire my wife to feel so great about herself and her appearance.
