Men - How to Knot a Tie The four in hand knot (or the schoolboy knot) is the simplest and most basic tie knot

Lay the tie around your neck with the wider end about 20cm lower than the thin end
-
Cross the wide end over the thin end
-
Loop the wide end back under the thin end and wrap it around the thin end again
-
Bring the wide end up and through the loop around your neck
-
Hold the knot and bring the wide end down through the loop at the front of the knot
-
To tighten and centre, hold the knot between your thumb and forefinger and pull down on the thin end.
Always untie your tie to remove it (don't loosen it and pull it over your head) and wrap the tie flat around your hand before storing it rolled up.
Style Clinic - Five Ways to add Height
 If you want to stand tall and look slimmer try the following:

A V neck to make your neck appear longer

Shirt or single breasted jacket with narrow lapels

Vertical stripes or pinstripes to slim and lengthen (not too loud or you'll look like a clown)

Jacket in a bright or light colour over dark navy, black, or brown separates

Avoid flounces and frills unless they are slim and vertical

Simple suit jackets and long narrow trousers (with hems that skim floor)worn with high heels

Straight or slim A line skirts that hit just below or on knee.

Delicate heels, cut low at side of your foot, with slightly pointed toe.
