Welcome to our newsletter!

Spring evokes a sense of freshness and new beginnings, with sprouting shoots and blossoming flowers to inspire us to breakout of winter doldrums. Bright colours return for Spring along with translucent or neutral tones. Fashion designers are encouraging hopeful attitudes with lively colours, while sophisticated, grounded hues address the need for stability in times of econmic uncertainty.

Why don't you feel an uplift in spirits by wearing colours that make you feel alive! www.definingstyle.com.au/ColourReinvention

Spring 09 Colours Inspire the Economy

Taking purple in a lighter direction, Lavender presents softer, more summery hues.

Lemon brings a fun, optimistic outlook to evoke a smile. Friendly and approachable Coral is flattering to most complexions and is beautiful with a summer glow. Red is a real show-stopper adding a sense of elegance.

Stabilising Neutrals provide practicality in a changing economic landscape. Nudes break away from the typical neutrals with subtle rose undertones (beware as they can be hard to wear). Cool Slate Grey teams with many colours.

Citrus Green offers freshness and renewal along with sophistication. Reflective Mint Green adds a clear subtle hue with hints of renewal.

Father's Day - Better than Sox

Did you know that people spend less on Father's Day than any other event on the gift giving calendar.

  • Think outside the box and give Dad a gift he will never forget: a makeover to make him feel stylish and cool. www.definingstyle.com.au/Men
  • Trendy Dad: In our hot summer spare a thought for the mere male who endures a suit and tie at work. Fashion has come to the rescue with the cropped trouser, worn without socks. They starred at Australian Fashion Week and will be available at Country Road's 'Trenery' which opens next month. Look out for lightweight trousers designed to be rolled up to expose bare ankles and linen cotton twill jackets.
  • Weekend Dad: You can't beat a polo shirt in colours and stripes. David Jones has 25% off a great selection of polos till 9 September. Try Country Road polo in coral or light indigo, Tommy Hilfiger in yellow or pale blue, or Nautica stripe polo in navy, blue or red.
  • Stylish Dad: Buy him an Armani exchange jacket 03 9600 4888 or check out Bargain Buys below.

"Starting a new career, I was a bit lost as to what my work wardrobe should be. I also didn’t have a lot of money to buy a whole new wardrobe.

Robin helped me figure out what colours I should really be wearing and ‘mixed and matched’ my existing wardrobe resulting in fabulous new outfits, I never would have thought of. She essentially gave me a new wardrobe within my existing wardrobe.

It now saves me an incredible amount of time shopping as I know exactly what to look for! Robin is an extremely knowledgeable stylist and has given me a whole new confidence!"
