Whats in this Issue
Welcome to our Newsletter If you are a regular of Nine to Five Magazine you would have seen the article 'Colour me beautiful' featuring Defining Style in the June 1 edition. The article in the 'Temple' section discussed how the right hue can make a lasting impresion on those who count, so ensure the colour you wear doesn't make you fade into the wallpaper.
Shop Till You Drop - Mum and Me![]() I had the time of my life helping one lucky girl and her mum spend $1,000 each on a full day shopping spree. The shopping spree was courtesy of Greenwood Plaza, North Sydney's Mother's Day competition. The day also included being spoilt rotten at the Living Room restaurant where we were treated like queens. Purchases for the winner included a striking olive trench and cute purple gloves from David Lawrence two stylish suits (blue and chocolate) and a stunning mustard cardigan from Jigsaw. Her mum scored navy tailored pants and gorgeous purple top from David Lawrence an oatmeal studded jacket along with pants and skirt from Rodney Clark. If you hate shopping, let me do the hard work for you and save you valuable time and money. The time is perfect with sales still around. www.definingstyle.com.au/yourpersonalshopper or call Robin on 0419 468 272.
Fashion Trend - The Bold ShoulderJust when you thought it would never come back again in fashion, and you'd never wear it, shoulder pads are back. Though before you get too concerned, they are more subtle than those in the 80's. Some Australian designers are even creating a more softer and feminine look with clever pintucking and draping on the shoulder line than the exaggerated styles on the catwalk.
Celebrities have caught the bug with Kate Moss and Victoria Beckham creating headlines when they wear them. The great thing about the big shoulder is it slims the rest of the body, especially the waist. Women like them because they feel more powerful however men prefer their women not to have shoulders bigger than their own. Read more on my blog on how the bold shoulder is reflecting the financial downturn and leave your comments.

Cheers Robin "Like most women, I can carry great weights on my shoulders, but sometimes it's the straw on top that breaks my back. My Achilles heel was definitely my dress sense. I DIDN’T HAVE ANY. If a dress looked nice on a girlfriend, I would try and find something similar, and then wonder why I looked so awful! I didn't attend my 30th School Reunion because I fell asleep. I'd spent all day trying to find the perfect outfit to fit with my evolving life, a "together" woman with her own business. I was that woman, but I couldn't find the outfit to match. That's when Robin entered my life. Three hours after our first meeting 85% of my clothes had been sorted and sent to a better place. Our next adventure was hitting the shops. Three hours later I had a much smaller repertoire of mix and match garments but better still, I knew what colours and styles suited me and how to make a good investment money wise. As far as I am concerned Robin's styling sessions should be put on the school curriculum. No more tears now before breakfast as I discard shirt after blouse after t-shirt in search of the look for the day. I'm into quality now, not quantity. Knowing that you look great is intrinsic to your self confidence. Spend some time with Robin and you will come away a winner."
