Whats in this Issue

Welcome to our new look newsletter!

I’ve had a busy few weeks helping people stay abreast with their professional image. I presented at Northern Beaches Business SWAP, outlining the key elements to project a stylish and professional image. I also hosted a fashion parade at a Ladies Night at Narraweena Public School with local mums strutting their stuff, whilst providing the audience with five top tips to look great.

Party Dazzlers

With the party season fast approaching, what do you wear? Don't resort to flashing lights jewellery or dresses that are too flouncy or short, and should be worn by your daughter. Look cool in garments that say style. The maxi dress is IN and is fun and flirty and great if you are tall. If you are short make sure you wear it with high heels for extra height or a knee length party dress will make you look slimmer and much more chic. Off the shoulder dresses also star, wear one to show off a great shoulder line.

Red really sizzles this summer, so team it with white to cool down the heat. Choose a red that suits you, blue reds for cool skin tones and orange reds for warmer skin.

White is always IN however ivory is much softer and kinder to your skin. Metallics always dazzle, try peep toe shoes, metallic thread scarves, a Peter Lang necklace or classy belt in your best tone (gold or silver). Consider also Sparkling Diamonds Mineral Body Powder, Laura Mercier.

Green is another sure winner, choose from emerald, turquoise or lime green. To know which colour suits your skin tone go to www.definingstyle.com.au/colourreinvention

Men – Staying Cool

Guys, in our hot Aussie summer, it’s fine to skip the tie if the occasion warrants it. However there is no excuse not to wear up to date, stylish and well kept clothes. Perfect grooming is also essential to look well dressed.

Did you know that European fashion is mimicking the ‘toffy’ look of the 1945 novel, Brideshead Revisted. Waistcoats, blazers and oxford pants in navy and cream are prevalent. Australia is following this trend with white oxford pants and men’s summer suits in cool colours like: Arthur Galan beige suits or Farage three piece suits.

Underwear Trends – Shapewear

Forget daggy ‘Bridget Jones’ granny underwear, fashionable babes are investing in the new shapewear. Designed to instantly smooth and define your curves, the shapewear looks great under summer dresses. For:

  • Slim fit skirts and dresses – a long leg panty slims your waist, tummy and thighs
  • Short and fitted dresses – wear a short leg panty
  • Fitted dresses and bridal wear – a body stocking achieves an all over smooth look
  • Special occasion wear – a body dress contours the body and supports the bust.

Choose from:

  • Hollywood Fashion Shapes – Body Shaper Shaping bandeau dress allows you to instantly drop a dress size.
  • www.hollywoodfashiontape.com.au Dr Rey’s Shapewear – New mesh style high waisted brief and shaping leggings with aloe vera. Target.
  • Ricki-Lee - Hold me tight sculpting dress, tummy slip and briefs. Big W.
  • Spanx shaping garments - Gwyenth Paltrow has confessed to a little help from these. David Jones,
  • Triumph – Sculpt ‘n’ Shape short leg panty gives a naturally rounded bottom shape. The long leg panty has a circular knit fabric that defines and smoothes tummy and hips. www.triumph.com.au

"My shopping over recent years consisted of grabbing whatever I could off the sales racks in the least amount of time. Unfortunately I'd ended up with lots of clothes that didn't suit me - a waste of time and money. My sessions with you have enabled me to focus on the styles and colours most flattering to me. I'm buying fewer clothes, but getting more satisfaction and results out of my shopping."
